Prevalence of Inadequate Food Consumption in Gorontalo Reaches 16.05% in 2025

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) in Gorontalo Regency, Gorontalo reached 16.05% in 2025.

This figure decreased by 2.07% from the previous year's 18.12%, while in the last 5 years it increased by 5.31%.

Indonesia's average PoU in 2025 was 7.89%. This means that the PoU in Gorontalo Regency is higher than the national average.

According to the National Food Agency (Bapanas), PoU is a condition where a person regularly consumes an insufficient amount of food to meet the energy needed for a normal, active, and healthy life.

This indicator can be used as a tool to assess food and nutrition security conditions.

This means that residents of Gorontalo Regency who consume food but do not meet their energy needs account for up to 16.05% of the total population.
