Based on national Covid-19 data, 136 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests exceeding the national average over the past week. As of Friday, November 11, 2022, the national average was 131.46 tests per week.
The top five, ranked from highest to lowest number of people tested per week, are Kudus (987 people), Jepara (962 people), Gresik (942 people), Batam City (936 people), and West Bandung (921 people).
Kudus ranks first. With a population of 893,350, 987 people were tested per week. The latest positive rate is 10.94 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Next is Jepara. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 962 people were tested per week. The positive rate was 9.56 percent, a decrease from the previous week.
Covid-19 testing in Gresik recorded 942 people per week, Batam City recorded 936 people per week, and West Bandung recorded 921 people per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact, national Covid-19 data shows 146 regencies/cities actively reporting a higher number of weekly tests than the previous week. Meanwhile, 196 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of weekly tests compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, areas with the highest number of weekly tests include Batam City (936 people), Deli Serdang (854 people), and Pekanbaru City (775 people).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
