Mean Years of Schooling for Cilacap Regency Residents Reaches 7.65 Years in 2025

The mean years of schooling (MYS) for residents aged 25 years and above in Cilacap, Central Java, reached 7.65 years in 2025.

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the MYS for residents in the region was below the average for Central Java Province, which reached 8.15 years in 2025.

The MYS for Cilacap residents increased by 0.25 years (3.38%) compared to the previous year, which was 7.4 years. Meanwhile, in the last five years, the MYS rose by 0.68 years (9.76%).

This MYS indicates that the average resident of Cilacap only attends school up to the 7th grade level. However, this MYS is still below the national average MYS of 9.07 years in 2025.
