The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 98 districts/cities with an agglomeration death rate due to COVID-19 above the national average, currently recorded at 0.04 deaths per 100,000 population per week, data as of Sunday, September 4, 2022.
The five districts/cities with the highest agglomeration death rates due to COVID-19, exceeding 0.91 deaths per 100,000 population per week, are Barito Selatan (1.42 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Banggai Laut (1.27 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Palangkaraya City (1.01 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Pangkal Pinang City (0.93 deaths per 100,000 population per week), and Tomohon City (0.91 deaths per 100,000 population per week).
A national COVID-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in the agglomeration death rate due to COVID-19 in most districts/cities outside Java. Eleven districts/cities recorded a higher daily agglomeration death rate due to COVID-19 than previously, while three districts/cities recorded a lower rate.
Areas outside Java with the highest agglomeration death rates due to COVID-19 include Barito Selatan (1.42 deaths per 100,000 population per week), Banggai Laut (1.27 deaths per 100,000 population per week), and Palangkaraya City (1.01 deaths per 100,000 population per week).
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
