The top five, starting from the highest number of specimens examined per week, are Tasikmalaya (939 specimens), Batam City (927 specimens), Kupang City (857 specimens), Kediri (843 specimens), and Banjarmasin City (796 specimens).
Tasikmalaya ranks first, with 939 specimens examined per week. The latest positive rate is 0.6 percent, a decrease from the previous week.
Next is Batam City. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 927 specimens were examined per week. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0 percent, also down from the previous week's ratio.
Furthermore, Kupang City recorded 857 specimens examined per week, Kediri recorded 843 specimens per week, and Banjarmasin City recorded 796 specimens per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 119 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher daily number of specimens examined than before. Meanwhile, 127 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of specimens examined compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of specimens examined include Batam City, Kupang City, and Banjarmasin City, with 927, 857, and 796 specimens examined, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distancing, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
