Israel ranked first, with a weekly increase in deaths of 83.33 percent. Worldometer recorded 22 deaths in the country, a 0 percent change from the previous day.
Nepal followed, with a weekly growth in deaths of 46.15 percent. Daily death figures in this country decreased by 0% compared to the previous day, with 19 deaths recorded.
Next, Cyprus reported 11 deaths (up 22.22%), Uzbekistan reported 22 deaths (up 22.22%), and Lebanon saw a 20.55% increase in deaths.
Looking at the total number of reported deaths, India recorded the highest number of deaths in Asia over the past seven days, with 1,988 deaths. This represents a decrease of -5.29% compared to the previous week. Following India, Vietnam reported 1,740 deaths (up 10.2%), Turkey reported 1,275 deaths (down -3.48%), the Philippines reported 579 deaths (down -35.23%), and South Korea reported 434 deaths (up 8.23%).
The total number of deaths in Asia over the past seven days was 8,456. This accounts for 17.99 percent of global COVID-19 deaths, which totaled 47,004. The number of deaths in Asia decreased compared to the previous seven-day accumulation of 9,101 deaths.
