The Covid-19 Task Force recorded that the majority, or 324 regencies/cities in Indonesia, were in the orange zone or had a moderate risk of coronavirus as of May 9, 2021. This number increased by six regions from the previous week, which was 318 regencies/cities.
Most of the regencies/cities in the orange zone are destinations for the 2021 Eid homecoming. Some of them are cities in Central Java, West Java, East Java, North Sumatra, South Sumatra, and West Sumatra.
Meanwhile, 12 regencies/cities are in the red zone and 168 others are in the yellow zone. Eight regions are in the green zone due to no increase in coronavirus cases. Only one regency/city is in the green zone because it is unaffected by coronavirus, namely Dogiyai Regency, Papua.
The Covid-19 Task Force requests that regional governments, especially those that are homecoming destinations, use this risk zoning map as a basis for formulating regulations related to coronavirus control. This way, the risk of disease transmission can be minimized.
In addition, the public is urged to be disciplined in implementing the 3M health protocols. These protocols consist of wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap.
