Based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 153 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 tests in the last week, exceeding the national average. Data from the week of December 18, 2022, shows a national average of 151.99 tests per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of people tested per week, are Sukabumi (993 people), Tasikmalaya (992 people), Yogyakarta City (983 people), Cimahi City (980 people), and Surakarta City (976 people).
Sukabumi is ranked first, with 993 people tested per week. The latest positive rate is 4.13 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Next is Tasikmalaya, where 992 people were tested per week in efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. The positive rate in this region is 2.72 percent, also higher than the previous week.
Yogyakarta City recorded 983 tests per week, Cimahi City 980, and Surakarta City (population 519,800) recorded 976 tests per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 111 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests in the last week compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 169 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests in the last week compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, some regions with the highest number of tests per week include Batam City (939 people), Deli Serdang (933 people), and Jayapura City (720 people).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
