The highest increase in confirmed positive Covid-19 cases in South Sulawesi currently occurred in Tana Toraja, with 15.45 cases per 100,000 population per week as of Wednesday, October 6, 2021. This figure is three cases higher than the second-highest region.
However, despite being the highest, the number of Covid-19 transmissions in Tana Toraja has decreased compared to the previous week, which was at 36.32 cases per 100,000 population per week.
Next in second place is Pangkajene Kepulauan. This region recorded weekly confirmed cases reaching 12.37 cases per 100,000 population. Compared to the previous week, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases this week is still higher, meaning there is no improvement yet.
Still in the top five, besides the two regions mentioned above, are Sinjai, Luwu Timur, and Makassar City. Each recorded weekly confirmation rates of six cases, five cases, and four cases, respectively.
According to the Ministry of Health's list, the next five regencies/cities in the top 10 are Soppeng, Gowa, North Toraja, and Bantaeng. These regions recorded an average increase of more than three cases per 100,000 population.
Other information from today's daily Covid-19 data statistics is that there are 113 regencies/cities in Indonesia that recorded a higher increase compared to the previous week, and 357 other regencies/cities that recorded lower weekly confirmations than the previous week.
