Food Prices Today (Jan 22) in South Sumatra: Red Chili Up, Cayenne Pepper Down

Prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today were observed to increase compared to yesterday.

Based on data from the Ministry of Trade's Basic Needs Market Monitoring System (SP2KP Kemendag) on Thursday (Jan 22, 2026) at 18:00 WIB, out of 16 commodities, 3 commodities increased and 3 decreased.

Commodities with increasing prices include broiler chicken meat, curly red chili, and large red chili.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as shallots, red cayenne pepper, and Honan garlic decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Curly red chili commodities saw the highest jump of Rp416 (0.99%) to Rp42,583 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of red cayenne pepper decreased the most by Rp834 (1.87%) to Rp43,833 per kg.
