The Indonesian Ministry of Health reported that 68.67 million doses of booster vaccines had been administered in Indonesia as of Thursday, January 5, 2023. This figure represents 29.26 percent of the national COVID-19 vaccination target of 234.66 million doses. The daily increase in COVID-19 booster vaccinations nationwide yesterday was recorded at 4,319 doses.
By province, West Java still holds the top position nationally with the highest number of booster vaccine recipients, reaching 15.65 million doses. Within West Java, Bogor Regency had the highest number of booster vaccine recipients with 1.61 million doses, followed by Bandung Regency (1.11 million), Bekasi Regency (989,650), Bekasi City (987,860), Cianjur Regency (928,310), and Bandung City (903,300).
East Java is in second place nationally with 9.24 million booster vaccine doses administered. Within East Java, Surabaya City had the highest number of recipients, with 1.3 million doses.
Central Java is in third place with 8.56 million booster vaccine doses administered. This is followed by North Sumatra (3.77 million doses), Banten (3.01 million doses), and Bali (1.96 million doses).
