The highest increase in confirmed positive Covid-19 cases in West Sumatra currently occurred in Solok Selatan, with nine cases per 100,000 population per week as of Wednesday, April 6, 2022. This figure is one case higher than the second-highest region.
The Covid-19 transmission rate in Solok Selatan is higher than last week because no cases per 100,000 population per week were reported previously.
Padang Panjang is in second place, recording eight weekly confirmed cases per 100,000 population. This week's confirmed Covid-19 cases are higher than last week, when no cases were reported.
Rounding out the top five are Padang City, Bukittinggi City, and Tanah Datar Regency, each recording five, five, and three weekly confirmed cases, respectively.
According to the Ministry of Health's list, the next five regencies/cities in the top 10 are Payakumbuh City, Solok City, Dharmasraya Regency, and Agam Regency. These areas recorded an average increase of more than two cases per 100,000 population.
The good news from this province is that one regency/city reported no increase in confirmed Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population per week.
Furthermore, 77 regencies/cities in Indonesia currently report no confirmed Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population per week.
