Brazil, the World's Largest Soybean Producer

Global demand for soybeans is increasing annually, including in Indonesia. Therefore, soybeans are a significant commodity in international trade. According to World Atlas data, Brazil is the world's largest soybean producer.

Brazilian soybean production reached 124 million metric tons in 2019-2020. Soybeans are a major agricultural product in Brazil and a key export.

The United States is the second largest soybean supplier globally, producing 96.79 million metric tons. Most of the US soybean production is absorbed by the Chinese market. Argentina is next, with 51 million metric tons.

Following are China, producing 18.1 million metric tons, and Paraguay, supplying 9.9 million metric tons to the global market. India and Canada produced 9.3 million and 6 million metric tons, respectively.

Global soybean production is projected to continue increasing in the coming decades. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) estimates that soybean production will increase from approximately 276 million metric tons in 2013 to 390 million metric tons in 2050.
