According to the Investment Ministry's report, the implementation of downstream investment in Indonesia in the first quarter of 2026 reached Rp147.5 trillion, an increase of 8.2% compared to the same period last year (year-on-year/yoy).

Breaking it down, Rp18.3 trillion went to palm oil downstream processing, Rp7 trillion to timber, Rp2.4 trillion to rubber, and Rp2.1 trillion to other commodities (nutmeg, pine, coconut, cocoa, and biofuel).

Then, the oil and gas sector received downstream investments worth Rp17.7 trillion, consisting of Rp13.6 trillion for oil downstream processing and Rp4.1 trillion for gas downstream processing.

Finally, downstream investments in the fisheries and marine sector amounted to Rp1.7 trillion. This investment was for salt downstream processing; tuna, skipjack, and cakalang fish; shrimp; seaweed; and lobster.

Overall, total investment in Indonesia in the first quarter of 2026 reached Rp498.8 trillion, growing by 7.2% (yoy).

This figure consists of foreign direct investment (FDI) amounting to Rp250 trillion (50.1% of the total) and domestic direct investment (DDI) amounting to Rp248.8 trillion (49.9%). All of these investment realizations are claimed to have absorbed 706,569 workers.
