The Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo) reported that domestic wholesale sales (factory to dealer) of both RS and Satya models reached 5,601 units in October. The Honda Brio snatched the title of best-selling car from the Toyota Avanza in October 2022.
Meanwhile, the Toyota Avanza, often crowned the best-selling car, fell to third place in October 2022, recording only 4,958 units sold—49 units fewer than the Toyota Rush, which ranked second that month.
Below the Avanza was the Toyota Calya, which almost overtook it, with sales reaching 4,913 units in October 2022.
Fifth place went to the Mitsubishi Xpander (including Xpander Cross) with total sales of 4,837 units. Daihatsu Gran Max PU followed in sixth place with 4,616 units sold.
Here's a breakdown of the top 10 best-selling cars in Indonesia in October 2022, according to Gaikindo's report:
1. Honda Brio: 5,601 units
2. Toyota Rush: 5,007 units
3. Toyota Avanza: 4,958 units
4. Toyota Calya: 4,913 units
5. Mitsubishi Xpander: 4,837 units
6. Daihatsu Gran Max PU: 4,616 units
7. Suzuki Carry PU: 4,459 units
8. Daihatsu Sigra: 3,738 units
9. Toyota Innova: 3,379 units
10. Honda HR-V: 2,997 units
Gaikindo also noted that overall domestic wholesale car sales reached 93,197 units in October 2022. This represents a 6.78% decrease month-on-month (MoM) compared to September's 99,986 units.
