Top 10 Provinces with the Highest Number of PayLater Users Based on Online Transaction Type (2024)

Research by the Katadata Insight Center (KIC) in collaboration with Kredivo has compiled a list of provinces with the highest number of users of *paylater* services for online transactions in Indonesia in 2024.

Of the top 10 provinces, West Java ranks first with a proportion of 34.5% of total online transaction users of this credit service. Not only for online transactions, West Java also has the highest number of *paylater* users for offline transactions, at 31%.

Second is DKI Jakarta with a proportion of 18.9% of users. In offline transactions, users in DKI Jakarta are also among the highest, at 19%.

Third is Banten, with a proportion of 11.8% of online transaction users. Offline transaction users reach 11.4%, making it the fourth highest.

Fourth and fifth are East Java and Central Java, with proportions of 11.2% and 5.9% of *paylater* users for online transactions, respectively.

Following are North Sumatra (2.8%), South Sumatra (1.9%), South Sulawesi (1.4%), Bali (1.3%), and Riau (1.1%).

This KIC research in collaboration with Kredivo covers more than 2 million Kredivo user samples across 34 Indonesian provinces, with a total transaction sample of more than 20 million.

Online transactions were conducted on the five largest marketplaces. Meanwhile, offline transactions were conducted at the seven largest retail merchants across Indonesia.
