Low Postpaid Indonesian Mobile Customers

By 2015, the number of mobile phone subscribers in Indonesia reached 337.5 million, exceeding the population of 250 million. However, only 3.5 million subscribers used postpaid services, while prepaid subscribers reached 333 million. The number of mobile phone subscribers steadily increased during the 2010-2015 period. This rapid growth reflects the high demand for cellular communication devices among the Indonesian population.

Currently, mobile phone services in Indonesia utilize two payment methods: prepaid and postpaid. Low awareness of postpaid services contributes to their low subscriber base. However, postpaid services offer several advantages in certain situations. Uncontrolled usage and specific requirements make prepaid services less popular among consumers.
