With 38.6% of the vote, Irwandi leads in Aceh's gubernatorial election.

Irwandi Yusuf and Nova Iriansyah, the gubernatorial candidate pair, are currently leading in the 2017 Aceh Regional Head Election (Pilkada). Based on the KPU's count of Form C1 (real count), the pair, with candidate number 6, obtained the most votes, namely 360,815 votes or 38.55 percent of the total votes. Their closest competitor, candidate pair number 5, Muzakir Manaf and T. A. Khalid, received 292,936 votes or 31.3 percent.

Candidate pair number 6 is leading in 13 of the 13 cities/regencies in the province of Serambi Mekkah. Meanwhile, candidate pair number 5 is only leading in five regions. The Aceh Pilkada involved six candidate pairs. The four other candidates are: Tarmizi A. Karim and T. Machsalmina Ali (candidate number 1); Zakaria Saman and Alaidinsyah (candidate number 2); Abdullah Puteh and Sayed Mustafa Usab Al-Idroes; and Zaini Abdullah and Nasaruddin.

The Aceh regional head election took place in 9,592 polling stations (TPS), and data has been received from 3,683 TPS, or approximately 38.4 percent. Voter turnout in Serambi Mekkah reached 75 percent.
