2014 Presidential Election: Jokowi Wins Resoundingly in 10 Central Javanese Cities

Joko Widodo (Jokowi), paired with Jusuf Kalla, won decisively against his opponent Prabowo Subianto, paired with Hatta Rajasa, in the 2014 Presidential Election in Central Java. The former mayor of Solo (Surakarta) garnered 66.65% of the vote, while Prabowo received only 33.35%.

Of the 35 regencies/cities in Central Java, Jokowi won them all. This is why the campaign team of the Prabowo-Sandiaga presidential/vice-presidential ticket (number 02) considered Central Java a region requiring serious attention to win the 2019 presidential election.

Based on data from the Central Java KPU (General Elections Commission), Jokowi even exceeded 70% in 10 regencies/cities. In Solo, the hometown of the incumbent president, Jokowi achieved 84.36% of the vote, Sukoharjo (79.54%), and Wonogiri (76.83%).
