The Indonesian Indicator Politics Survey Institute collected data on public perception regarding the Indonesian National Police (Polri)'s neutrality in supporting the 2024 General Election (Pemilu 2024).

The survey results show that a majority, or 83.5% of respondents, believe that the Polri will be neutral in preparing for the election, without favoring any party.

Specifically, 6.8% responded that the Polri is very neutral, and 76.7% stated that they are neutral.

"This should be maintained by the Polri as a way to ensure the success of the election," wrote Indicator Politics in its report.

Beyond that, Indicator Politics also recorded an improvement in public trust towards the Polri.

"Public trust in the Polri is currently high, with around 76.4% responding that they are very or fairly trusting of the Polri," explained Indicator Politics.

However, 23% of respondents still distrust the Polri. This breaks down to 20.8% responding that they are somewhat distrustful and 1.9% not trusting at all.

This survey involved 2,000 respondents aged 17 years and older or who are married. The sample was randomly selected using a multistage random sampling method from all provinces, proportionally distributed.

Data collection was conducted through face-to-face interviews by trained interviewers during the period of October 17-21, 2023. The survey's margin of error is approximately 2.2% with a 95% confidence level.
