25 House of Representatives Members Sign the KPK Inquiry Right Document

Twenty-five members of the House of Representatives (DPR) from nine factions have signed a motion for a right of inquiry against the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). The largest number of signatures came from the Golkar faction, with 10 members, followed by Hanura with six, PDI Perjuangan and NasDem with two each, while the other factions contributed only one member each.

The purpose of this right of inquiry is to request the recording of the KPK's examination of Hanura politician, Miryam S. Haryani. During her examination in the e-KTP corruption case, Miryam claimed to have been pressured by six members of the House's Legal Commission.

The KPK has named Miryam a suspect in the case of giving false testimony in the trial of the alleged e-KTP corruption project. However, Miryam later retracted her statement in the examination report due to threats from investigators during the interrogation. After evading the trial and being declared a fugitive, Miryam was finally arrested by the KPK in Kemang, South Jakarta, on Monday (May 1st).
