The first Jakarta 2024 gubernatorial election debate took place at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, on Sunday (October 6, 2024). The theme was "Strengthening Human Resources and Transforming Jakarta into a Global City."

According to a survey conducted by the Katadata Insight Center (KIC) in collaboration with tSurvey, or Katadata Telco Survey, 41.2% of respondents stated that they felt more confident in their chosen candidates after watching the first debate.

Furthermore, 25.2% of respondents who previously hadn't decided or intended to abstain now have a preferred candidate.

Another 13.2% of respondents became uncertain about their initial choice and are considering switching to a different pair.

Meanwhile, 8.5% of respondents became more certain about abstaining, and only 3.1% decided to change their choice.

This survey involved 1,081 respondents residing in Jakarta, meeting the criteria of having voting rights and using a Telkomsel mobile phone number. The sample was drawn from the tSurvey population based on Telkomsel's *telco data insight*.

Data collection was conducted from October 6-7, 2024, through an online survey using simple random sampling. The survey's margin of error is 3% at a 95% confidence level.
