According to a survey report by Katadata Insight Center (KIC), there are various considerations that make micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia use online loans (pindar).

KIC and the Indonesian Crowdfunding Fintech Association (AFPI) surveyed 309 business owners or managers of MSMEs who obtained funding from AFPI member platforms.

The results show that 66.7% of MSMEs use pindar because of its fast disbursement process.

There are also quite a few respondents who use pindar because its services have been officially licensed by the Financial Services Authority (OJK).

"Therefore, public education campaigns about the differences between legal and illegal pindar should continue to be intensified," KIC said in its report.

"User trust is not just a technology issue, but also about openness and accountability," it added.
