The Charta Politika survey shows that Joko Widodo (Jokowi) enjoys a significant lead over his rivals as a 2019 Presidential Candidate. The survey indicates Jokowi received 51.2% of the vote, while his closest competitor, Prabowo Subianto, received 23.3%. Gatot Nurmantyo's electability rating was 5.5%, and other presidential candidates received less than 5%, with 11% of respondents not answering.
The Charta Politika survey was conducted from April 13-19, 2018, involving 2,000 respondents spread across 34 provinces. The survey used a multistage random sampling method with a margin of error of +/- 2.19% and a 95% confidence level.
Compared to the Kompas Research and Development (Litbang Kompas) survey conducted from March 21 to April 1, 2018 (before Prabowo declared his candidacy), Jokowi's electability rating was 55.9% and Prabowo's was 14.1%. This indicates a rise in Prabowo's electability after declaring his candidacy, but it remains significantly lower than Jokowi's. In a head-to-head matchup against Prabowo, Jokowi received 58.8% of the vote, while Prabowo received only 30%.
