Kompas Research and Development surveyed the electability of prospective presidential candidates (capres) among female voters.
Female voters' attitudes in determining their presidential candidate are divided into two groups: those who have already decided (loyal voters) and those who are undecided or may change their minds (swing voters).
Among women who have already decided, Ganjar Pranowo achieved the highest electability at 36.6%.
Prabowo Subianto followed with 30.5% electability from swing voters, and Anies Baswedan with 23.2%. 9.7% of respondents did not answer.
"These militant supporters are very loyal to their chosen presidential candidate, regardless of who the vice-presidential candidate is and which parties nominate them," wrote the Kompas Research and Development team in their report.
This result differs from the group of female voters who have not yet decided. In this group, Prabowo received the highest vote share at 31.9%.
Ganjar dropped to second place with 27.2%, and Anies remained in last place with 17.3%.
"This potential shift in choice reflects the still dynamic nature of voters' political choices, including among women who are still hesitant or undecided," said the Kompas Research and Development team.
Kompas Research and Development stated that in addition to maintaining their loyal voters, prospective presidential candidates also need to win the sympathy and attention of swing voters. This is because the possibility of coalition shifts remains.
"Securing a coalition and a vice-presidential running mate is a momentum to attract electoral incentives from those who are still waiting and seeing the current political constellation," concluded the Kompas Research and Development team.
This survey was conducted on 1,364 randomly selected respondents using a stratified systematic sampling method across 38 provinces.
Data collection was carried out from July 27 to August 7, 2023, using face-to-face interviews. The survey has a margin of error of approximately 2.65% and a 95% confidence level.
