Indostrategic Survey: PDI-P Leads if Elections Were Held Today

The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) would win if the general election (pemilu) were held today. Based on a survey by the Institute for Democracy and Strategic Affairs (Indostrategic), the party with the white-muzzled bull emblem achieved an electability rating of 18.5%.

The Gerindra Party is in second place with an electability rating of 11.5%. Following this is the Democratic Party, which achieved an electability rating of 8.9%.

Furthermore, 8.5% of respondents would choose the PKS if the election were held today. 6.9% of respondents are recorded as choosing Golkar, and 5.5% of respondents chose PKB.

From the survey results, only six parties managed to achieve electability above 5%. The remaining 12 parties have electability below 5%. In fact, eight parties have electability below 1%.

Meanwhile, 1.9% of respondents stated they would not vote or abstain (golput). 5% of respondents kept their choice secret. 24.4% of respondents did not answer or did not know (TT/TJ).

Indostrategic conducted a survey of 2,400 respondents spread across 34 provinces from March 23 to June 1, 2021. The survey used a multistage random sampling method with a margin of error of 2%.
