Electoral Officials Most Frequently Reported for Violations in the 2019 South Sumatra Elections

DataTalk Asia reports that the majority of those reported for violating the 2019 General Election in South Sumatra were election officials, totaling 106 individuals. In addition, a significant number of legislative candidates were also reported, reaching 46 individuals.

Furthermore, 10 individuals from political parties were reported for election violations in South Sumatra, along with 4 civil servants (ASN). Other reported parties included voters, village officials, a presidential candidate, government officials, and campaign team candidates, each numbering 3 individuals.

Based on the type of violation, 132 reports were categorized as non-violations. Then, there were 31 violations categorized as criminal offenses, 12 violations of the code of ethics, 5 administrative violations, and 1 other violation.

According to the timeframe, election violations occurring on Election Day were the most frequent, reaching 110 violations, followed by 30 violations during the campaign period, and 22 violations during the vote tabulation.

The South Sumatra Provincial Bawaslu (Election Supervisory Agency) received the most reports of election violations in 2019, namely 26 violations. Following this, the Palembang City Bawaslu received 23 violation reports, while the Prabumulih Regency and Muara Enim Regency Bawaslu each received 15 violation reports.
