Poltracking Indonesia, a survey institute, released a new report on political party electability in early January 2024.

The PDI-P had the highest electability at 20.1%, a very narrow margin ahead of Gerindra, which garnered 19.9% of respondent votes.

"In early January 2024, the PDI-P still leads, but is closely followed by Gerindra," said Arya Budi, Research Director of Poltracking Indonesia, in an online presentation of the survey on Friday (19/1/2024).

Golkar secured 10.7% of respondent votes, followed by PKB and NasDem, each achieving 9.9% and 8.1% respectively.

Meanwhile, PKS had an electability rate of 7.5%, Democrats 5%, and PAN 4.7%.

Other parties achieved electability below the parliamentary threshold (less than 4%).

"But there's a margin of error of 2.9%, so there's PPP with 2.9% and PSI with 2%. They might still have potential, including Perindo with 1.3%," said Arya.

"Some parties still have the potential to enter the Senayan (Parliament), while others are already confident because their numbers are already above 40%," he added.

The Poltracking survey involved 1,220 respondents aged 17 and above and who are married. The sample was selected using multistage random sampling.

Data collection was conducted from January 1-7, 2024, using face-to-face interviews. The survey has a margin of error of approximately 2.9% and a confidence level of 95%.
