The Global Community Begins Utilizing Cryptocurrency

A Statista survey reveals that people in several countries worldwide are starting to own or use cryptocurrency. Of 74 countries surveyed, Nigeria has the highest intensity of cryptocurrency use globally, with approximately 32% of respondents utilizing it.

Nigerians frequently use their mobile phones to send money or make transactions at various stores. Businesses in the country have added cryptocurrency as a payment option, enabling its use in daily life, as reported by Statista.

Vietnam (21%) and the Philippines (20%) hold the second and third positions for highest cryptocurrency usage rates. Remittances play a significant role in the spread of cryptocurrency. Meanwhile, the Philippine government is collaborating with Unionbank to distribute Bitcoin by providing automated teller machines (ATMs) in Makati, Metro Manila.
