According to a report from the Directorate General of Taxes of the Ministry of Finance (DGT MoF), from July 2020 to March 2026, the accumulated tax revenue from the digital economy sector in Indonesia reached Rp50.501 trillion.

The majority of this revenue came from value-added tax (VAT) on trade conducted through electronic systems (PMSE), amounting to Rp38.76 trillion.

As of March 2026, DGT MoF has appointed 262 PMSE business operators as VAT collectors. This includes two new appointments, namely Match Group Americas, LLC and Ionos Inc.

At the same time, the government revoked the VAT status of two PMSE companies, namely Zendrive Inc. and Tencent Mobile International Limited.

Next, digital tax revenue from the Government Procurement Information System (SIPP) amounted to Rp4.98 trillion. This consisted of Article 22 income tax of Rp360.05 billion and Rp4.62 trillion in VAT.

Finally, financial technology (fintech) P2P lending contributed Rp4.77 trillion in taxes. This figure came from Article 23 income tax on loan interest of Rp1.35 trillion, Article 26 income tax on loan interest of Rp727.76 billion, and Rp2.69 trillion in domestic VAT.

Lastly, tax revenue from crypto transactions totaled Rp2 trillion. This consisted of Article 22 income tax of Rp1.12 trillion and Rp880.18 billion in domestic VAT.

According to Inge Diana Rismawati, Director of Counseling, Services, and Public Relations at the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) of the Ministry of Finance, the trend in digital tax revenue shows positive performance despite adjustments to tax collector data.
