From Dogecoin to Bitcoin, Major Cryptocurrencies Fall Today (January 21, 2022)

The lack of positive catalysts in the market caused cryptocurrency prices to fall again in today's trading, Friday, January 21, 2022. Based on Coinbase data, the digital currency market experienced an 8.1% decline in the last 24 hours.

Investor anxieties over the Federal Reserve's (The Fed) faster-than-expected plans for monetary policy tightening fueled further selling. As a result, large-cap cryptocurrencies experienced a sharp decline.

Binance Coin led the decline among large-cap cryptocurrencies. The BNB cryptocurrency traded down 10.57% to Rp 6.11 million per coin in trading on Friday, January 21, 2022, until 2:24 PM WIB.

The next largest correction among large-cap cryptocurrencies was Polkadot (DOT), down 9.64% to Rp 318,610 per coin. This was followed by Cardano (ADA), down 9.31% to Rp 17,690 per coin; Solana (SOL), down 9.14% to Rp 1.79 million per coin; and Ethereum (ETH), down 9.12% to Rp 40.93 million per coin.

Bitcoin (BTC) also experienced a decline of 7.65% to Rp 556.41 million per coin. Dogecoin (DOGE) followed, correcting 7.53% to Rp 2,180 per coin; XRP (XRP) fell 6.52% to Rp 10,010 per coin; Terra (LUNA) dropped 3.64% to Rp 1.13 million per coin; and Tether (USDT) fell 0.12% to Rp 1,434,000 per coin.

These ten cryptocurrencies have a market capitalization of over Rp 200 trillion. Bitcoin has the largest market capitalization, reaching Rp 10.54 quadrillion.
