The Indonesian People's Housing Savings Program (Tapera) is a financing program established by the Indonesian government to assist low-income communities in purchasing, renovating, or building homes. This program is managed by the Tapera Management Agency (BP Tapera).
According to the latest released *Tapera Program Management Report*, as of the end of 2022, BP Tapera managed funds exceeding Rp7.6 trillion.
These funds are a collection of Tapera participant savings and the results of developing/growing participant savings through investments.
BP Tapera manages these funds in cooperation with several general banks through Tapera Fund Management Contracts (KPDT), both conventional and sharia-compliant.
As of December 31, 2022, the total asset value of BP Tapera's conventional KPDT was approximately Rp7.6 trillion, the majority of which was invested in the securities portfolio.
Meanwhile, the total asset value of the sharia KPDT was approximately Rp514 billion, with most of it also allocated to the securities portfolio, as shown in the graph.
These BP Tapera managed funds are then allocated to three main purposes:
* Reserve Fund: Funds to ensure that each Tapera participant receives a return of savings and benefits/returns from savings growth at the end of their participation.
* Development Fund: Funds to be invested conventionally/sharia-compliant, managed by investment managers.
* Utilization Fund: Funds for financing loans for the purchase, renovation, or construction of homes for Tapera participants who are classified as low-income earners and meet the requirements.
