The manufacturing industry is the largest recipient sector of bank loans in Indonesia until the first half of this year.
Based on data from the Financial Services Authority (OJK), as of June 2025, the disbursement of loans from commercial banks to the manufacturing industry reached Rp1.24 quadrillion.
This value is equivalent to 21% of the total loan disbursement to national business sectors, which totaled Rp5.86 quadrillion.
The next largest recipients of loan disbursements are wholesale and retail trade at Rp1.22 quadrillion (20.77%); the agricultural sector at Rp542.9 trillion (9.26%); and the transportation, warehousing, and communication sector at Rp485.92 trillion (8.29%).
Meanwhile, the smallest loan disbursements went to international and extra-international bodies, valued at Rp10.76 billion (0.0002%); the personal services serving households sector at Rp3.56 trillion (0.06%); and the education services sector at Rp18.78 trillion (0.32%).
In terms of loan quality, the fisheries sector is the most risky business field.
This is reflected in the high non-performing loan (NPL) ratio in the fisheries sector, which reached 5.18% of the total disbursement.
