Earthquake Today, June 10, 2023, Shakes West Coast

A recent earthquake measuring 4.7 magnitude struck West Coast on June 10, 2023. According to the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) release, the earthquake's epicenter was located in the sea approximately 71 kilometers southeast of West Coast.

"Earthquake felt, Magnitude: 4.7 on June 10, 2023, 15:07:44," BMKG wrote in its release. The earthquake occurred at coordinates 5.82°S (South Latitude) and 104.05°E (East Longitude).

The earthquake was felt on the MMI scale in several areas, including Ulu, Pesisir, Liwa, Limau, and Suoh, with intensities of II-III, II-III, II, II, and II respectively. One of the MMI scales felt was II, meaning the earthquake was not felt or was felt only by a few people but was recorded by instruments.

The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) recorded 12 significant earthquakes felt by the public across Indonesia in the last week, varying in magnitude and depth.
