Based on the forest and land fire monitoring system SiPongi from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), monitoring over the last 24 hours detected 149 hotspots across Indonesia. This number has decreased by 42 points compared to the previous monitoring period.

Data was obtained from Terra/Aqua, SNPP, and NOAA satellite imagery accessed at 11:35 WIB on Thursday (30/4/2026). Out of 149 detected hotspots: 1 hotspot has high confidence level, 145 have medium confidence level, and 3 have low confidence level.

Hotspot confidence is split into 3 tiers: low tier ranges 0-29, medium tier 30-79, high tier 80-100. Higher hotspot confidence indicates higher probability of forest and land fire occurrence in the area.

Most hotspots were detected in East Kalimantan with 27 points. Central Sulawesi ranks second also with 27 hotspots, followed by Central Kalimantan at third place with 9 hotspots.

9 hotspots were registered in North Maluku, 8 in South Kalimantan, while West Kalimantan and North Kalimantan recorded 7 and 6 hotspots respectively.

Hotspots are coordinate points showing higher surface temperature than surrounding areas; they do not equal the count of actual fire incidents.

However, clustered and high-volume hotspot detection in an area signals active forest and land fires. Satellite-detected hotspot data remains the most effective method for large-scale wildfire monitoring.
