Earthquake Today, April 1, 2024, Strikes Tuban

A 4.7 magnitude (M) earthquake struck Tuban. The epicenter was at sea. "The earthquake's epicenter was located 141 km northeast of Tuban at sea, and this earthquake was felt and is being reported to the public," wrote BMKG (Meteorological, Climatological, and Geophysical Agency) on its official website, April 1st, 2024.

The earthquake occurred at 10:26:26 AM. It was located at a depth of 10.0 kilometers and did not have the potential to cause a tsunami. The earthquake's coordinates were 5.71°S (South Latitude) and 112.49°E (East Longitude).

The earthquake was felt on the MMI scale in the Bawean area with a scale of II-III. The felt MMI scale was III, meaning the earthquake was felt by several people but did not cause damage or accidents. Light objects hanging were swaying, and glass windows vibrated.

The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) recorded 11 significant earthquakes felt by the public in Indonesia over the past week, varying in magnitude and depth.
