81% of Indonesian respondents believe that if individuals do not act now to address this issue, future generations will suffer the consequences.

Not only at the individual level, but 81% of Indonesian respondents also believe the government needs to play a larger role in addressing climate change.

Furthermore, 60% of respondents believe the government already has a clear plan to collaborate with businesses and the public in tackling climate change.

"These findings show that the Indonesian public is not only aware of the urgency of the climate crisis but is also ready to be part of the solution, both as individuals and through support for government policies and collective initiatives," said Ipsos.

However, some people are concerned that climate change mitigation efforts could disrupt stability.

This is reflected in the 36% of Indonesian respondents who believe that the transition to renewable energy could lead to increased power outages.

"This data highlights the importance of an energy transition approach that is not only environmentally friendly but also considers its impact on the economy and infrastructure," said Ipsos.

Ipsos conducted this online survey of 23,745 respondents across 32 countries, including Indonesia, between January 24 and February 7, 2025.
