Today''s Food Prices in Central Java: Red Chili Up, Buffalo Meat Down

Prices of several food commodities in Central Java today were observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Monday (Sept 8, 2025) at 14:29 WIB, out of 25 commodities, 19 increased and 4 decreased.

Commodities with increased prices include corn at the farmer level, pure beef, consumption sugar, skipjack tuna, and laying hen eggs.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as dried soybean seeds (imported), fresh buffalo meat (local), milkfish, and medium rice decreased compared to yesterday''s prices.

The curly red chili commodity surged the highest by Rp3,675 (10.72%) to Rp37,956 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of fresh buffalo meat (local) fell the sharpest by Rp1,813 (1.25%) to Rp143,500 per kg.
