West Kalimantan's Medium-Sized Red Onion Prices Are the Highest in Indonesia (Friday, February 11, 2022)

The National Strategic Food Price Information Center recorded the average daily price of medium-sized shallots (per kg) in modern markets across several provinces at Rp 42,580 per kg as of Friday, February 11, 2022. Overall, the average this week increased compared to the previous week's average of Rp 42,490 per kg.

The daily price of medium-sized shallots in modern markets in West Kalimantan was the highest in Indonesia at Rp 59,500 per kg. Compared to a month ago, the price of medium-sized shallots in this province remained unchanged. The highest price ever recorded in this region was Rp 90,400 per kg.

Meanwhile, in modern markets in West Papua, medium-sized shallots were sold at Rp 55,500 per kg, making it the second most expensive in the country.

Following in third place, the price of medium-sized shallots in Gorontalo was Rp 51,000 per kg, North Maluku Rp 50,200 per kg, and East Kalimantan Rp 44,650 per kg.

Meanwhile, eight provinces had medium-sized shallot sales below the national average. The three provinces with the lowest selling prices for medium-sized shallots were East Java, Jambi, and North Kalimantan.
