Latest Food Prices in West Sumatra: Onions Up, Red Chilies Down

Prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today were observed to be lower than yesterday.

According to data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Thursday (August 14, 2025) at 13.20 WIB, out of 24 commodities, 9 commodities increased and 14 commodities decreased.

Commodities with increased prices include consumption sugar, bulk cooking oil, consumption salt, fresh buffalo meat (local), and premium rice.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as large red chili, red onion, Minyakita, packaged cooking oil, and red cayenne pepper decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Farmer-level corn commodity increased the most by Rp76 (1.22%) to Rp6,300 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of curly red chili decreased the sharpest by Rp1,165 (3.03%) to Rp37,254 per kg.
