Latest Food Prices in Central Java: Chili Prices Up, Rice Prices Down

The prices of several food commodities in Central Java today are observed to have increased compared to yesterday.

Based on the national food agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Sunday (1/12/2024) at 16.28 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 12 commodities increased and 6 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include farmer-level corn, red chilies, shallots, medium-grain rice, and simple packaged cooking oil.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as milkfish, premium rice, skipjack tuna, bulk wheat flour, and packaged wheat flour (non-bulk) decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The price of curly red chilies saw the highest increase, jumping by Rp280 (1.46%) to Rp19,500 per kg. The price of skipjack tuna saw the sharpest decrease, falling by Rp220 (0.71%) to Rp30,780 per kg.
