Food Prices Tuesday (5/8) East Java Region: Red Chili Up, Beef Down

Prices of several food commodities in East Java today were observed to decrease compared to yesterday.

According to data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Tuesday (5/8/2025) at 08:18 AM WIB, out of 23 commodities, 10 increased and 13 decreased.

Commodities with increased prices include dried soybean seeds (imported), large red chili, bulk wheat flour, broiler chicken meat, and packaged cooking oil.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as consumption salt, curly red chili, milkfish, bulk cooking oil, and red onion decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Farmer-level corn commodity surged the most by Rp443 (8.12%) to Rp5,900 per kg. Meanwhile, mackerel fish prices fell the deepest by Rp3,659 (10.57%) to Rp30,944 per kg.

Below is the complete list of prices for 23 food commodities in East Java according to Bapanas on August 5, 2025, at 08:18 AM WIB.

6. Garlic (Bulb): Rp31,235 per kg (up 2.05%)
7. Red Cayenne Pepper: Rp31,222 per kg (down 3.33%)
8. Milkfish: Rp31,056 per kg (down 4.68%)
9. Mackerel Fish: Rp30,944 per kg (down 10.57%)
10. Skipjack Tuna: Rp30,000 per kg (down 4.23%)
11. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp26,833 per kg (down 1.82%)
12. Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp20,147 per liter (up 1.45%)
13. Bulk Cooking Oil: Rp17,542 per liter (down 2.23%)
14. Consumption Sugar: Rp16,576 per kg (down 0.25%)
15. Minyakita: Rp16,329 per liter (down 1.82%)
