Sumatera Selatan Food Prices on Tuesday (October 15th): Salt Prices Rise, Rice Prices Fall

The prices of several food commodities in South Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on the national food agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Tuesday (15/10/2024) at 08.28 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 5 commodities increased and 14 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price are packaged simple cooking oil, skipjack tuna, bulk cooking oil, iodized fine salt, and red chili peppers.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as bulk wheat flour, medium rice, milkfish, shallots, and farmer-level corn decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Iodized fine salt experienced the highest price increase of Rp950 (8.36%) to Rp12,320 per kg. Farmer-level corn experienced the largest price decrease of Rp430 (7.13%) to Rp5,600 per kg.

6. Skipjack Tuna: Rp26,950 per kg (up 0.48%)
7. Shallots: Rp25,990 per kg (down 1.52%)
8. Milkfish: Rp25,770 per kg (down 4.87%)
9. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp25,240 per kg (down 3.88%)
10. Curly Red Chili Peppers: Rp22,650 per kg (down 3.0%)
11. Packaged Simple Cooking Oil: Rp17,490 per liter (up 0.46%)
