Latest Food Prices in West Sumatra: Rice, Red Chili, and Cayenne Pepper Prices Decline

Prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today were observed to decrease compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Tuesday (September 30, 2025) at 15:06 WIB, out of 24 commodities, 11 increased and 12 decreased.

Commodities with increased prices include milkfish, shallots, SPHP rice, premium rice, and skipjack tuna.

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as bulk cooking oil, medium rice, packaged cooking oil, packaged wheat flour, and bulk wheat flour decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

The milkfish commodity surged the highest by Rp5,000 (12.5%) to Rp45,000 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of consumption salt decreased the most sharply by Rp400 (2.56%) to Rp15,254 per kg.
