The Price of Low-Quality Grade I Rice in Papua is the Highest in Indonesia (Friday, August 9, 2024)

The National Strategic Food Price Information Center recorded an average daily price of Rp 14,420 per kg for low-quality grade I rice in modern markets across several provinces as of Friday, August 9, 2024. Overall, the average price this week increased compared to last week's average of Rp 14,410 per kg.

The daily price of low-quality grade I rice in modern markets in Papua was the highest in Indonesia at Rp 16,800 per kg. Compared to a month ago, the price of low-quality grade I rice in this province is higher, previously recorded at Rp 13,300 per kg.

Meanwhile, in West Papua's modern markets, low-quality grade I rice was sold at Rp 16,700 per kg, making it the second most expensive in the country.

Following in third place, the price of low-quality grade I rice in East Nusa Tenggara was Rp 16,500 per kg, Maluku Rp 16,200 per kg, and South Sumatra Rp 15,950 per kg.

Meanwhile, 15 provinces had low-quality grade I rice prices below the national average. The three provinces with the lowest selling prices for low-quality grade I rice were West Sulawesi, South Kalimantan, and West Nusa Tenggara.
