Current Food Prices in West Sumatra: Sugar, Oil, and Rice Prices Fall

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Citing data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Sunday (20/10/2024) at 09.01 WIB, out of 18 commodities, 8 commodities increased and 10 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include curly red chilies, garlic bulbs, broiler chicken meat, premium rice, and simple packaged cooking oil.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), medium rice, broiler chicken eggs, skipjack tuna, and bulk cooking oil decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Broiler chicken meat prices increased the most by Rp4,520 (13.11%) to Rp39,000 per kg. Meanwhile, the price of fine iodized salt decreased the most sharply by Rp2,410 (15.64%) to Rp13,000 per kg.

The following is a complete list of the prices of 18 food commodities in West Sumatra according to Bapanas on October 20, 2024, at 09.01 WIB.

1. Pure Beef: Rp150,000 per kg (up 4.57%)
2. Mackerel: Rp50,000 per kg (up 8.48%)
3. Garlic Bulbs: Rp40,000 per kg (up 4.17%)
4. Broiler Chicken Meat: Rp39,000 per kg (up 13.11%)
5. Curly Red Chilies: Rp35,000 per kg (up 11.57%)
6. Skipjack Tuna: Rp35,000 per kg (down 5.89%)
7. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp28,800 per kg (down 0.59%)
8. Red Onion: Rp28,000 per kg (down 4.08%)
9. Premium Rice: Rp18,000 per kg (up 2.62%)
10. Table Sugar: Rp18,000 per kg (down 0.11%)
11. Simple Packaged Cooking Oil: Rp18,000 per liter (up 0.61%)
12. Medium Rice: Rp15,000 per kg (down 2.41%)
