Latest Food Prices in West Sumatra: Egg Prices Up, Salt Prices Down

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

Based on the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel data on Monday (8/7/2024) at 09.17 WIB, out of 18 commodities, 8 commodities increased and 10 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include skipjack tuna, simple packaged cooking oil, broiler chicken meat, premium rice, and bulk wheat flour.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as packaged wheat flour (non-bulk), garlic cloves, fine iodized salt, shallots, and dry soybean seeds (import) decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Broiler chicken eggs saw the highest price increase of Rp2,160 (7.58%) to Rp30,670 per kg. Fine iodized salt experienced the sharpest price drop of Rp1,970 (12.58%) to Rp13,690 per kg.
