West Sumatra Food Prices Friday (August 16th): Onion Prices Rise, Chili Prices Fall

The prices of several food commodities in West Sumatra today are observed to be lower than yesterday.

Based on data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Friday (16/8/2024) at 12:48 WIB, out of 21 commodities, 7 commodities increased and 13 commodities decreased in price.

Commodities that increased in price include bulk wheat flour, simple packaged cooking oil, skipjack tuna, shallots, and dry imported soybeans.

Meanwhile, the prices of several commodities such as pure beef, SPHP rice, bulk cooking oil, Indian mackerel, and medium rice decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Skipjack tuna prices saw the highest increase, jumping Rp1,500 (4.1%) to Rp38,050 per kg. Red chili prices saw the sharpest decrease, dropping Rp9,230 (16.36%) to Rp47,180 per kg.

9. Broiler Chicken Eggs: Rp28,930 per kg (up 0.24%)
10. Shallots: Rp21,590 per kg (up 2.37%)
