Food Prices in Indonesia Today: Buffalo Meat Prices Up, Onions Down

Prices of several food commodities in Indonesia today are observed to have decreased compared to yesterday.

According to data from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) food price panel on Wednesday (August 20, 2025) at 09:07 AM WIB, out of 25 commodities, 2 commodities increased and 23 commodities decreased.

Commodities with increased prices are skipjack tuna and frozen buffalo meat (imported).

Meanwhile, prices of several commodities such as packaged wheat flour, consumption salt, bulk wheat flour, shallots, and curly red chili have decreased compared to yesterday's prices.

Frozen buffalo meat (imported) saw the highest jump of IDR 1,468 (1.38%) to IDR 107,803 per kg. Meanwhile, shallot prices dropped the deepest by IDR 5,593 (10.84%) to IDR 45,982 per kg.

6. Mackerel: IDR 42,237 per kg (down 0.0%)

8. Curly Red Chili: IDR 38,381 per kg (down 8.8%)
9. Garlic Bulb: IDR 36,219 per kg (down 6.2%)
