Daily Prices of Large Red Chilies in Traditional Markets of Papua Province Have Decreased by 25.21% Over the Past Month

The latest information from the National Strategic Food Price Information Center panel shows that the daily price of large red chilies in traditional markets in Papua Province is recorded at Rp58,750. This price is down Rp1,250 compared to the previous day.

Compared to the price 30 days ago, the daily price of large red chilies in traditional markets has decreased from a previous record of Rp78,550.

Meanwhile, the daily price of large red chilies in traditional markets in Papua over the past three months has fallen by 30.56%. According to historical food price records on the PIHPS price panel, the daily price of large red chilies in traditional markets in Papua Province was traded at Rp84,600.

The record high for the daily price of large red chilies in traditional markets in this province was previously recorded in August 2023 with an increase of 73.28%, and the lowest decrease was also recorded in August 2023 with a decrease of -42.89%.

According to PIHPS observations, the prices of nine basic commodities (sembako) today in Papua show ten commodities decreased and twelve others increased. The basic commodities with decreased prices are Large Red Chilies, Red Chilies, Medium-Sized White Onions, White Onions, Curly Red Chilies, Grade I Low-Quality Rice, Grade II Low-Quality Rice, Grade I Medium-Quality Rice, Grade II Medium-Quality Rice, and Rice.
